What we do:

United Response is a national charity that supports young people and adults with learning disabilities, mental health needs and physical disabilities to take control of their lives. We also support people with dementia, acquired brain injury and autism.

Founded in 1973 with just one service in West Sussex, we now work in over 300 locations across England and Wales. We recognise that everyone has different interests and work with each individual, giving them the opportunity to fulfil their potential. We provide everything from 24-hour care and support to helping someone living in his or her own flat to get a job.

We believe that people with disabilities are equal participants in society and should have the same rights and opportunities as everyone else. As well as providing support, we run campaigns on the latest social care issues, organise fundraising schemes and events, and provide guidance and information via our website as well as through various publications.

Don't take our word for it...

Jack, 2016 United Response London Marathon runner:

"Thanks again for all the support, it really was an absolute pleasure being part of the team. Without your help I couldn't have achieved what I did yesterday. I am immensely proud to have been on the journey I have, and to run for such a fantastic charity. I am so grateful for it all and would love to remain in contact. United Response will always be a special charity to me from now on."

Zoe, United Response London Marathon runner, who also volunteered as a guide runner through our Richmond service:

"I thought it would be a lovely idea to run for such a brilliant cause. It has been great having a charity I can really get involved with - to go out and see how your money helps is just fantastic. Having the power and knowledge of that feeling you will get when you finish really is worth it. It helps to have a charity that is so happy to help facilitate how involved you want to be, it's such unique attention - you're always there for us to call."
